Debashis and Sarita with Disha, Neelam (my bhabi), Anil (my brother) and Diganth. Disha and Diganth are their kids while Disha teaches at a Managment Institute Diganth is in the sixth semester pursuing computer Science. Bhabi teaches Life Sciences at Ravenshaw and Anil works in NALCO.Despite the fact that Debashis's uncle was in the ICU it was really gracious of them to drop down at my brothers residence in BBSR. We really had a good time talking about so many things about our school days.
Although it is difficult not to get bowled over by Sarita's charm it was Debashis who really is the quiet strength behind her. There is an element of stillness in his persona that really impressed me. It really made my trip to BBSR worthwhile. Thanks for everything Sarita and Debashis and do blog regularly there are already signs of our blog stagnating.

Arun,
Nice pictures all.
Rmbr. in an earlier blog post, I was astonished that you didn't know Sarita?
You getting bowled now, when the pace has decreased a bit ( her need for bifocals? ;-) ) Think about ...
Anywho, Debashish! How should I put it? Recommended meeting (like "recommended reading" in syllabus).
So when I met him in Feb., there was nothing much between the 2 of us to get started, till I found out that he too used to hang around with Bhabani!!!
Now, Bhabani is generally viewed as "bad news". But Deb and I agreed that there was an innocence and raw directness about Bhabani, combined with an absolute "no pretense" of even attempting to portray anything else. WYSIWYG at its purest.
Sarita,
You don't think I'm putting you on, or setting u up etc. Will never do that to a friend!
Yes, Arun --that was indeed a very perceptive remark about Sarita and Debasish --I found both of them a really charming pair -and people one can connect with immediately.
Anil --its been decades that I have seen you--last time we had met was on the pitch, wehn you were belting sixes at will at a Cobra Cricket match....
Great seeing you and your family --who knwos --may see you in 2009 as there is a visit to BBSR in the offing...
I met Anil, perhaps for the first time, at NALCO, BBSR,in Nov, 2002.
I could not recall meeting him during my Cuttack days, nor did he.
HILU
There is a hindi film "Silsila" where Amit and Sashi always talk about Maya- a character from their school days. Right thru the film she makes her presence felt without actually ever surfacing on the screen.
Now Bhabhani seems to be in that league! Next time you meet him just give him a jadoo kee jhappi.
Stan
I agree with you I found the pair charming.

Anil came to Cuttack slightly later. he did his graduation from FM college Balasore and then did his MA from Ravenshaw. Maybe that's why you did not bump into him during our school days.
Hi Arun, thanks for being so liberal with ur appreciation, though I'dont remember having talked to u ever in school yet there was no awkward silence oruneasiness, the day was full of tense moments and I must thank U for the wonderful balm given by u at the end of the harrowing day--btw my uncle -in -law is doing well after an angioplasty. The whole evening with ur family had an out of the world DREAMLIKE feeling--meeting miss ,her warmth-- transported meto those good old days when all of us-- a noisy group crowded all around her vying for her attention--in school she was ourmother figure 'bcoz she was the only person clad in a sari-identified with our moms.
Your Bhaiya Bhabi & kids are warm, affectionate and WONDERFUL people--uncle--ur father is amazing !!!Thanks for the wonderful experience, looking forward to many more such times.
And guys ---Thanks for being so forthcoming with ur appreciation --feeling on the top of the world!!!!
Thanks Guys!!!
Ah, speaking of sari-clad i.e. those Miss(es) who did not were skirts.
Hindi Miss for sure.
Then there were the Oriya Miss(es).
Ms. Shamim was always in her salwaar kameez.
Ms. Mabel Vincent, oh so elegant in her saree. (Note: Full length hair too).
Of course Ms. Purnima Panda, skirt would have been a little too conservative for her ;-) BTW, there is a pic. of hers in a saree in this blog !!!
