Interesting Read - Don't Lie (Pun Intended)

Mom comes to visit her son Kumar for dinner.....who lives with a girl roommate Sunita. During the course of the meal, his mother couldn't help but notice how pretty Kumar's, roommate was. She had long been suspicious of a relationship between the two, and this had only made her more curious.Over the course of the evening, while watching the two interact, she started to wonder if there was more between Kumar and his roommate than met the eye. Reading his mom's thoughts, Kumar volunteered, "I know what you must be thinking, but I assure you, Sunita and I are just roommates."

About a week later, Sunita came to Kumar saying, "Ever since your mother came to dinner, I've been unable to find the silver chutney jar.You don't suppose she took it, do you?" Kumar said, "Well, I doubt it, but I'll email her, just to be sure."

So he sat down and wrote:

Dear Mother,

I'm not saying that you 'did' take the chutney jar from my house, I'm not saying that you 'did not' take the chutney jar.But the fact remains that it has been missing ever since you were here for dinner.Love, Kumar

Several days later, Kumar received an email from his mother which read:

Dear Son,

I'm not saying that you 'do' sleep with Sunita, and I'm not saying that 'you do not' sleep with Sunita. But the fact remains that if she was sleeping in her OWN bed, she would have found the chutney jar by now under the pillow...Love Mom.

Lesson of the day: Don't Lie to Your Mother...........especially if she is an Indian !

Real life, no kidding!

So when I was studying here, waaay back in late mid 80s, there were 2 Indian students, Muthu and Seetha, who were roommates i.e had a 2-BR apt. to themselves. Muthu was from Karnataka, a silent studious type of guy, Seetha was from Andhra, very pretty, very fair also (kinda like our Anuradha Nabhi).

I have no idea about their relationship, platonic I take it, but Muthu for sure had lotsa guy friends (yours truly included), and his/their apt. was a party magnet as regards venue was concerned.

We guys had made Muthu "da man" for our own purposes. But Muthu was having the proverbial last laugh, and was in no kinda hurry to find out who his "true" friends were.

For e.g. Muthu would call up one of us "Hey, man 'we' need groceries and my car has a flat". No problemo hombre, we would say, in the hope ... many a times this resulted in Muthu doing groceries, Seetha staying back finishing her project, and "one of us" being the chauffeur.

That was a good one Faiyaz.
Tasneem, thanks for the concern. We do get snow in London for a day or two in Feb/Mar, but it would be a few centimeters.....this time it was about 8-10 inches and London came to a standstill on Monday. For me it was a day off from work and I spent it all with the little one....he did enjoy the snow throwing snowballs and making snowman. The next day I had to come to work, buit the little one did enjoy himself playing in the snow with his Nanny, Nanny's brother & boyfriend !!
