I know most of you will come after me with a "danda" for saying this.

The hateful fudge!!

Never developed a taste for chocolate - prefer the Indian variety of sweets anytime.

Fudge and caramel apples. OMG, Sujata, I won't come after you with a 'danda' but fudge is my favorite and I am a chocoholic.

Now I don't to 'fudge' my smattering of knowledge.

Yet literate version - as per Sujata.

Illiterate version - Ajmeri Kalakhand !

To a student of accounting who recently wrote an exam in internal auditing- "fudge" is what a poor accountant does with the numbers when his/her balance sheets do not balance!

The twain (Indian sweets and American desserts) meet at the Chhenna Podo (Oriya) and the cheesecake. Actually, it also exemplifies our cooking styles, Indian - overdone (hence the podo - jala hua (Hindi) ) whereas the cheesecake seems to have hardly spent time in the oven!

Lov'em both - the gori and the dusky ;-) And the in betweens and the kaali, oh but I digress!
