Hi from Hotlanta!

Okay, okay, Vimal...I have decided to keep my promise and write again. So what are all of you up to? Is everybody busy with their holiday plans? In Hotlanta, everyone seems to be 'stressed out' for the holidays. Traffic is horrendous as people are in and out of stores buying gifts, gifts and more gifts. It drives me crazy seeing people get into a frenzy like this. Don't get me wrong, I do buy gifts and such but I don't kill myself doing it... Somewhere along, I feel that the true meaning of Christmas has gotten lost along the way as we perceive it as more of a time to exchange gifts. I heard a neat little story from a friend about how her mother did "something special" during the holiday time last year and it really touched my heart. So wanted to share it with you....She was in a drive-through to pick up coffee at her favorite place, Starbucks and decided to pay for the car behind her. Then it started off a "chain reaction" as everyone wanted to "pay it forward". And believe it or not guys, this went on for a good two hours...it sure was contagious. So I decided to do the same at McDonald's about two weeks ago. I dunno how long it lasted, but it just made me feel happy as I drove off from there. Maybe , you can try this and let me know your thoughts and experience?
I hope all of you have a great holiday season and a wonderful New Year; do share pictures of your Christmas tree here. I will post a few pictures of my Christmas tree.

That was a really nice thing to do, will definitely try it here in NJ. A happy holiday season to you too. This year I am sooooo late with my tree. I just strung the lights on it today and am yet to trim it. Hopefully I will get it done before Christmas comes, :). I used to buy gifts when the kids were young, but they are not interested in gifts anymore. We just have a family lunch or dinner and that is it!

Well....talking of gifts, my son's nanny has got him a Santa stocking and also made him write his wish list !! He has already been to some shopping malls & Hyde Park Santa's Grottos and got gifts from the Santas there and also handed them a copy of his Christmas wish list !!
Now it is the job of the mom to fill the stocking with some of his favourite toy types, which is nothing else than cars ! And for me his orders are to get him a dog.....in his words "not a real one, the normal one". And the normal one is a mechanical dog called "Biscuit". So I can understand the shopping madness....We just have this weekend to get the gifts !!
On a different note, as the post is from Hotlanta.....every year the bookies give odds for a white Christmas, and I know people who bet every year against a white Christmas - reason, it never snows in Christmas in London so the probability of winning is high....but in case it does snow on Christmas, they dont mind losing the money !!
This year it snowed yesterday...well not snowed....just some sleet, but the odds which were 8/1 has become 5/2 for a white Christmas and according to the media, this is the best ever odds for a white Christmas in the UK....so keeping fingers crossed and setting up the fire place.

You actually did that? So nice of you...! They say a good deed always gets passed on... so i am sure this must have lasted for quite some time.
Well, for Christmas we had an illuminated star in our balcony over looking the road. We do that every year - from 25th Dec till about first week of Jan...
