SVC Kolkata Chapter
The Three Wise Men came bearing gifts from far away lands ---Dubai, UK and Bengaluru and landed up at the bar room of the Steel Club, Kolkata! The occassion was a merry(hic) gathering of kindered souls bonded together by their love for SVC and each other.
Susant and NRK(yours truly) tried to play the role of hosts. Amitabh Palit, Stanley, Henry and we had a cosy chat over tea, pakoras and spirits. "Its too early for a drink" said the good doctor but was sportive enough to join in.Though we planned to meet at 10 am, such was the enhusiasm that everyone came early. Memories and nostalgia poured out faster than spirits and the 'Good Times' at SVC were relived by all! We even tried our hand at table-tennis but Susant's "hole-in-one" sent the ball down the drain leaving Henry bewildered! All in all it was a great rendezvous!
There was only one thing missing--- the rest of the SVC gang!!!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

That's a real unwind of Ye Seniors ! What was the count ? And how many 'nine-pins' falling !!!
Amor Shopnor Bongla ! Ami Ekla chalo re ! or ' Panch '.
NRK your fleeting visits to VSKP is unpardonable !
Wow, you guys seem to have had a swell time---I can smell the Romanoc all the way down here!
Nice to see Henry after a long time. And Amitava and Sushant too.
BTW, it looks like the Don is almost everywhere---I met him only a couple of weeks ago at B'lore. Methinks he has gone to Cal to awaken his 'sleeper cells' :)
Hey guys , you all seem to have had a ball inspite of one going down the drain.
Palit & Sushant t'was great talking to you both.
One observation , they all look the same except for their pot bellies ..
One observation - The Don is present everywhere - truly as the " Fellow Senior Cambridge "
Vimal - we need to organize a re-union.
Kudos to you all.
Looks like you guys had so much fun!
Envy you folks...! Wish I was with you all that day.
Naresh-- The count was zero considering it was morning.
Will try to make a longer visit to Vskp next time.
Vimal- thanks for the tech support. We missed you all. BTW a toast was raised to you for starting the blog
Louis- Agree with your observations and recommendation!
Thanks to NRK for the well arranged reunion at Kolkata. The pakoras were served hot, the Romanov was served chilled --and the tongues wagged hot and cold.
Pot-bellies notwithstanding, everyone got charged up to play a TT game until one of the Tigers did a "hole-in-one" and the ball disappeared.
I am lucky to be present at all these mini-reunions, thanks to the nature of my wandering around ....
Susant was at his fluent-best, in his shhtyle. Dr Palit was pucca British, and I saw him blush and say Jolly Good at some of the Berhampuriya nonveg jokes, being unleashed by the Romanov infusions. Henry's quick moves on TT was a surprise. NRK , of course, loomed large over the proceedings expansively...
All in all, a wonderful reunion, Vimal ki Kasam.
Enarkay played the perfect host and goodwill plenipotentiary on Christmas Eve to strengthen the
amity bond and band(o)of senior
Signor SVCians(juniors citizens
of Kolkata Chapter).Louis the VII
deserves a special thanks for his
Hi-tech arrangement of a mobile conferencing which set the ball
rolling.The three Wise Men,Sir Stanley,King Henry and Dr.Palit
shared their compendious wisdom
and wishdom over cups of tea,
aliment and spirits.The host was
reminded by Sir Stanley,to post the snaps including a good write-up.He did. In his write up,Enarkay has mentioned that there was only one thing missing-
the rest of the SVC gang. How true!
Hey Folks!Look carefully !What he meant by the only thing was simply
a (Miss)Dilruba(repeat)who would have added colours and inundated
this blotspot with more than 23
comments posted someplace else.Only
the creator,only Vimal can arrange
another reunion of all SVCians. Many thanks to all of you
for the acatalectic fun.
Hey all you people who manage to steal such get-togethers leave the others green & tearing their hair with envy for having miss'd out on the joy and fun of the highest kind.... Guys letz plan a largescale meet....
Amen to that Sarita! Its the big one that eludes us. Only Vimal can pull it off.
