My son Sreyas cleaned our driveway
Visitor to my front porch - not sure who it was though!
snowing heavily now (7:30pm)
As most of you probably know the East Coast of the United States is being showered with a tremendous amount of snowfall. It started yesterday south of us in Virginia and DC and since this morning we in NJ have been getting lots and lots of snow. While it makes it a nightmare for those who are traveling, it makes for a beautiful winter wonderland for those who are not. I took these pictures in front of my home today. Enjoy!!

Neat pictures,Seetha! I like to see the snow falling, but the cleaning etc is so painful...have a lovely,White Christmas!
Wonderful Pictures - But be careful Seetha, you may be arrested for Child Labour! Poor Sreyas!
looks grt though it must b hard work 4 u. looks like ur visitor was a long legged avian
Nivedita - yes I am hoping that the snow will stick around until Friday, so we can have a white Christmas!
Faiyaz - Sreyas is a jawaan ladka, no problems with him, I am the one who has to worry of hurting myself. The snow we shoveled in these pictures was only 3 inches, but this morning we had to shovel 13 inches and it tool us over two hours to get it all done.
Alpana - My son and I thought it could be a bird also!
Gosh Seetha, life must be real tough out there---imagine all the hard labour that is needed, sans maid servants!!
I've never seen snowfall, despite visiting Lake Tahoe and Manali in Xmas season---all that was there was hardened snow or ice.
Perhaps I'll get to see some if it if I visit DC next month---as of now my visit is tentative.
Ah ! the footprints on ' snows of time ' - probably ' baccha ' abominable snowman. Certainly not a human footprint !
Looks like a Turkey paid a visit looking for Christmas Goodies. Have a lovely white Christmas!!
Footprints: Thatz snowman... probably..! Great pics. Thanx for posting. Have a wonderful Christmas.
Enarkay, this time of year instead of getting goodies from people, the turkey will become a goodie for people.
Vimal: We did not even build a snowman this time. In my family I think I am more of a kid than my kids are. I wanted to build a snowman but my son refused to have any part of it. He thinks that is 'kid stuff'!!
Venu: NJ is three hours away from DC, how about a visit???
Seetha---I do plan to meet my kith and kin in NJ area---one lives in Edison, another in Jersey City, and another in Nutley.
Will certainly try to drop in during one of my visits, time permitting.
Ciao.
Hahaha...nice job! Even in the frrrrrreeezing atmosphere you look so HOT with a shovel in your hand ;-}
Revamping this old thread----gosh, what a marvellous experience I had in the past week!
It started with dry 'Utah' snow on Saturday (Jan 30th, 2010), followed by 'wet' snow on Tuesday night.
But today, DC area is getting the biggest snowfall in the past 2 decades. I was the only one in the IT wing of my clien't office (The Washington Post), and headed back to my apartment nearby soon after the snow started at around noon.
There is a blizzard warning till tomorrow (Saturday) and all buses and metro trains are shutting down by 9 pm tonight. All flights to Dulles airport and Reagan airport for Saturday have been cancelled.
