Meeting Mishras in Mumbai

Vimals's radar bleeped sometime in October 2009.

He had on his screen the Padhi sisters of SVC!!

Finally on the 11th of November Abha Padhi, now Mrs. Abha Mishra, signed into the SVC blog follwed by her sis on the 12th of November. It's indeed a small world as she is married to Mr. Binoy Mishra, an IAS officer of the 1984 batch who happens to be my contemporary in JNU and where we used to stay in the same hostel.

After five years Abha, now a neurologist in the land of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn (Missisippi), came back to India and was gracious enough to give yours truly and Vims a chance to play hosts.

It was truly a great evening. I met Binoy after twenty three years and he continues to impress me with his earthly charm and simplicity. A serious person during his college days he used to be called "Bodo bhai."

Though I was meeting Abha for the first time, but as it happens with most SVCians, we took off like long lost friends. It was really a fun filled nostalgic evening. Honestly I felt a bit apprehensive as I did not know how our 'phoren' friends would take to an indisciplined dog romping all over the place with his tail wagging away in full glory. But to be honest they adjusted well with my crazy labrador!!

In anycase Vani had her hands full (she had to wash her hands thrice) with our dog. He really has the wettest lick in the world. He is seen in the pix doing eactly that!!

Thanks a ton Binoy, Abha, Vani and Vims for this memorable evening. We are indeed blessed to share such genuinely happy moments with friends.

BAM/GOPALPUR would be the best location during winter months.

It was great meeting Abha and Binoy... Abha has not changed at all...! Same smile, same voice...
Thanx Arun and Minakshi... we had a wonderful time at your place.
Folks, the truth is: Arun's post is not complete... this is just 50%. I'll post the rest - watch this space.

That was a real dekko at the world of Abha Padhi seen thro the bloggers prism.

Aruna and Vimal are now gaining fame as the legendary Bloomsbury circle--entertaining friends, flow of wit and merriment --and heaps of nostalgia ... and a big loving pet romping around.....

It was really great meeting up with friends after more than two decades! Thanks to Arun and Minakshi for being the lovely, perfect hosts. Vimal and Vani were kind enough to join us at such a short notice! We all had a gala time, in the company of Crazy, good food and long lost friends.

Abha.
