Folks!
Made that solo whirlwind 1-week trip to India for the silver jubilee celebration of NIT, RKL 84 batch. Needless to say it was fantabulous, with more than 50% showing up.
The trip was stressful in a way. My luggage did not arrive (first time it ever happened to me), thanks to the snow storm that Seetha seems to "enjoy", I missed my flight etc. etc.
Sorry, could not connect with anyone this time, DID NOT EVEN go to BAM!!! Best I did was call up Sarita and Nargis and chatted briefly.
Since the missus and my boys missed me for Christmas, headed off to southern Cal. for New Year's, 8 hours after arriving at home. Just got back 3 hours ago. My head is reeling, don't even know if I have jet lag or not. Kinda dazed rt. now.
HNY Y'all (with a Texan draaaaaawl) ;-)

Welcome back to this side of the pond, Omkar! If you think shoveling snow for two hours is 'enjoying', then I guess I 'enjoyed' it, :-)

Thx. for maafing me! If truth be known, in a week's trip the bag took 5 days to arrive. I had to buy new clothes etc.
On the reunion front, I learnt a thing - the NIT re, was supposed to be held at BBSR, but later got changed to RKL, closer to the Alma Mater. That was a brilliant idea, at least the 1st. re SHOULD be at/closer to the institution. Hint - the visuals prompted many a nostalgic thought.
5 Days for the mishandled bag to arrive - Which Airline?
Reunion - Proximity from the Institution - We should have it in the Institution itself!
The 1st leg of the flight was AA. From Washington (IAD)it was Qatar Airways to N. Delhi. It was traced to be AA's fault and to some extent the snow in Washington on the Friday b4 Dec 20th), and the only thing they could do is give me 5000 bonus miles.
Now, the re. was at the campus itself. Boy, has the thobdaa of the campus changed. Almost all of us stayed at the Campus Guest house (brand new building), spartan by hotels' standards, but had western toilets, geyser, and TV. But who was in their rooms anyways ;-)
