Stanley, Where on earth are you?
You religiously appear just before the Oscar - Ab Bothath ho gaya - Buscar!!!
(meaning Enough and not Bus Car)

Amitabh is to IIFA awards
what Stanley is to SVC Oscar...

Stan, You deserve all the Awards..

I would appreciate a brief "Oscar Acceptance" speech from each awardee and those who missed out as well....

It is indeed a great honour to be receiving my first EVER award, that too on so august a podium as this. I thank the Chief of Jury, and this canvas which has enabled me to achieve my fifteen minutes. I also thank the eminent galaxy of stars in this production which I am proud to be part of. (My apologies to my English teachers for ending a sentence thus).
Thanks again, Stan.

p.s. 'Not to be published - Great work, Stan, that required a lot of insight.'

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? No judge, no jury, no nominations, no nothing? Sorry Stan Saar, I'm so terribly terribly disappointed with all this politics. Who knows, I might have got nominated in ALL the categories. One more thing, why call it Oscar? Why not Aposcar? Hahahaha....
Anyway, when do we get to receive this 'invisible' trophy?

Also a BIG WARM welcome to the debutantes- Abha, Raila and Debnath. When I asked Faiyaz who Debnath was, his eyebrows almost vanished into his scalp...'What? You don't know Debnath?' Like as if he was Amitabh or someone...hehehe. But now that he's got an award I guess he IS a celebrity....:-}

Nargis,
You may not remember me as I was practically invisible (see my previous posts about my dimunitive dimensions). In fact when I came back home after visiting Fai, my mom said 'Nargis' means the flower rajnigandha.
And one day I did fall off my chair when I was reading the newspaper in Vizag (probably around 2002) and from the book reviews page, this article stared at me in the face - 'Dr.Feroz Ali - Daddy dearest'. Tasneem enlightened me promptly via email. Your photos on the blog are exactly the way I remember you.
Regards..
Debnath

Debnath,
I too read that paper---it was The Hindu and it was sometime in late 2002 or early 2003.
I was in Hyd at that time and tried in vain to contact the Aposcar-winning author, as she was in Hyd too.
