hi

Hi everybody,
“While I was gone” is one of my fav books (it’s an Oprah Winfrey Book Club contender) and really guys and gals- while I was gone so much has happened to our blog-space -it’s become quite a happening place. And all u nerds have got me wrong- please to read between the lines – I have quite got over Immy the pallid pathan. I said the current fav would be Father What’s-his-name - an entirely fictional character. Alas, my Immy crush lasted all of the scant weeks the Pak team toured India. I do not see myself simpering behind Immy in a chador or in designer salwar-kameezes (ugh!). The burqa cured me of my Imm-urges.
While I was gone, kid sis has Blogger No. 1, Sarita threatens to “Play Misty for Me”, Henry is in parasitic mode with Louis and Stan’s identities in blog-land (get on with it boyo and carve out your own space) and Vimal seems content with playing Picasa. As for me, I am hob-nobbing with carpenters, painters and upholsterers (coverers of sofas) in between delivering babies. And far from being bold and the beautiful, I have metamorphosed into the old and the dutiful. Relax guys, it’s only my ole house that is getting a face- lift- while my own assorted wrinkles have entrenched themselves into my mug and my bs and bs are trying valiantly to defy gravity. Grave situation indeed!
While I was gone, Salman got salaamed into the slammer and the poor chinkaras
Could breathe easy again. The dutiful daughter of Italy became a martyr again by resigning her seat- Mamma mia! The Indian masses alas are martyrs of their own stupidity and incompetence and their excessive salivation over gora skin.
Faiyaz, don’t chicken out and post your pooch on the blog- go the whole hog and let’s have the entire picture. While on pooches, I’m posting a posse of pooches (oops I did it again-it’s supposed to be police or I will have Stan and Narcissi policing my language again). And a few more from school days – Little Women themselves (or is it not-so Little?). The next are from my Valley-of- Flowers trip- Nanda- Devi awash (at five in the morning) in gold from the morning sun and the valley awash in pink blossoms.
Hey Louis, I think you put a stop to your dilly-dallying, shilly-shallying and come right out with The Date. Also we should have our re at Mumbai or Pune – it will be a central hub for people from all over. The misty maiden can then emerge from her filters – she seems to have become the banyan of Bhub, so rooted is she in oriyadom.
Enough blathering and blubbering from me for now. On a personal note- Henry get hitched –to Baby, Clara or Hasina (thunder and lightning notwithstanding). Better to taste the thunder a.k.a the delhi ka ladddoo than die wondering. You know- jho khaya wo pachtaya, jho nahi khaya wo bhi pachtaya. What the heck, I’d rather die of surfeit.

House renovation in full swing - Sounds like an inswinger from Immy?

What's all this House getting a Face Lift?
And the reunion bit taking place in Mumbai?
And who's idea was the Ashram in Pune though?

I was surprised to hear Delhi Ka Ladu being mentioned- Shouldn't it be Poli Cha Ladu?

Hen adds: Alpana madam, what is this dilli ka laddu business? Je suis dumb. My brain may have been sharp once upon a time, but now it has, over the years, become addled! Ha ha.

And lady, you said I had gone into parasitic mode. Ho ho. You mean piggybacking or riding piggyback on Louis's blog? Amitabh Bachchan was right when he said in Namak Halaal that the English language is a very 'phunny language'.

And this 'piggybacking' seems to be ok with the computer, not with the human race of the female variety -- be it Clara, Hasina (goodness, where did you get these names from? Hee hee). Guess Big Sis's hackles have been raised, what with kid sis and her friendly neighbourhood banter! She seems to have created quite a tsunami, (the 'tsunami' term courtesy Nargis)!

Cheers.
