In this ‘limited edition of eternity’ (that’s sheer poetry too) called Life, there is so much one wants to do. And so little time. As requested by the Professor and since there is a call for pouring one’s heart out (especially as the other heartpourer is on a journey to the city of joy), I might as well shade this blog with different hues of outpourings. The fotus of the pooches will follow, just like 'they' always do:-)
TRANSCIENCE
I’d like to rate its spacious measure
equip every portion of it with love
but Life is too wide
its girth too extensive
to decorate willfully.
I’d like to wipe the scum off the shallow surface
delve into its cavernous clarity
but Life is too deep
its waters, too sullied
to swim carelessly.
I’d like to scale the unplumbed heights
paint its peak with care
but Life is too high
its standing too tall
to reach unflinchingly.
I’d like to race with speed and haste
conquer every willful waste
defeat its slow protracted pace
savour every flavour
sample every taste
but the journey is too long
and Life, always short………
of breath.
Nargis.

That's really a great piece of writing, Nargis --
I do believe that the nearest a person comes to enjoy the power of Divinity is when one creates a work out of nothingness and embodies it with a life of its own.
Nargis, great expression of nihilism !!!Are we or U really that inadequate that we cannot execute the longings of our heart?? I feel this one life is enough 2 reach out and achieve .The angst in our life propels us forward--my perspective,i'm no philosopher so spare my impertinence..pl.
Pl. read ..forgive my impertinence in place of spare .
Nice Poem....
'City' of Joy - Just in Case you folks are not aware -
Kolkata is a Soccer Crazy City -
Whenever the referee blows the final whistle - The people rejoice with Joy - Now that's what is 'Setee of Joy'
Stan, if you recollect when we were together in a swimming pool - say 35 years back in the City of Joy - Bombay - City of Joy Mukherji.
It was he who taught us the basics and the Joy of Swimming at the SpeedBird club in Bombay? Dunno if you remember...
Nargis, I agree with Prof. One life is enough to achieve what ever we want. What ever! Everything is right here in this world and it is available. And I personally believe in it 100%. As long as we work towards it, nothing can stop us from having it. My point of view of course and I am not being arrogant.
Yes Nargis, I do swim like 'Joy'.
A thing of beauty is a Joy for ever!
And do you remember the Fair Lean Chap you gave you Swimming lessons in KL?
How can anyone forget someone like him?
Poetry is not an opinion expressed. It is a song that arises from a bleeding heart or a smiling mouth......Nargis u write beautifully,,,,and when we meet we shall be delited to have yr prose,,,we can indulge in reading sessions on the beach,,,what say???
Its amazing that considering the tiny unknown school we went to,,,,,it has given us strong lit"foundations.
Fai,,,we r getting a tad bored of seeing wada sambar,,,,is it supposed to tell us that u resemble one???no???pl will the real Fai post his fotu,,,,its not the Araba land,,,where it is purdeh mein rehene do!!!!!!
Ashu,
Reading sessions in the beach? Yes - Provided you folks adhere to the dress code
For goodness sake - Not the Korean but the Orean dress code!
In our Airline terminology there is something called the Baggage concept - The weight Concept and the Piece Concept!
Need I say more?
Regarding the Fotu, The seniors tend to post a blurred version....
Will post one soon...Waqt aaney PAR! Until then, PARdey mein rahney do!
Hey Fai,,,,lemme paint the picture for u....u have gone off track with wt,,baggage etc etc
reading sesion at the beach,,,in the eve,,hopefully a tad chilly,,,with a huge bonfire,,,,, words cascading soothingly,,,while the waves lap gently,,,,,and the eve melting into the nite,,,,,,the tempo changes and soon strains of music render the air,,,,,,and the nostalgia wraps us in her bosom!!!
Ashu, dear me, what senuous utterance..great poetry !! It has the ability not only 2 make us feel but above all2 make us... SEE.
Ashu, your poem is not only GREAT but seems dangerously alarming!
Hence should be named - ISHQ SAMANDAR!
Session at the BEACH,in the eve, while the WAVES lap gently,
The TEMPO changes and soon WRAPS US IN HER BOSOM!
???
All that comes to my mind is TSUNAMI!
Ashu 's poem should be read either like jOHNNY lEVER OR jAGDEEP.
Hai hai hai that tempo changes like a tempo trailer,
wraps us in her bosom like a saree or snake wah wah !!! mein kahan hoon ....
Jokes apart, I agree with Nargis , and I bet ,the day we all meet, I am sure you guys , with all your paltonic ,creative, imaginative and hedonistic views , will end up publishing a book.....; Ashu my dear, you seem to have become more philosophical !!! Blame it on sailing !!
There's something coming up for you in the next blog.
sorry read .. platonic
O u surprised bunch!!!!!
the obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply!!!!!
what an outpouring of views to my simplistic one of the beach!!!!!
louis,,,life is the greatest teacher and yes my mind does crave for a lot of answers!!!!call it philosophy!or blame it on the sailing!!!!!
Ashu, everyday , every moment in life we learn. Learning is never ending, nor do I let the child in me die. The moment one stops learning , he/she becomes extinct, "dust thou art to dust thou didst',
awake arise : life is beautiful,be a giver.Philosopher deary !!!!!
