hi

hi everyone, i think this blog is like a hallucinogenic drug - we need 2 have a daily fix, it transports us almost like alice down the rabbit hole of memory, we land up in a wonder landpeopled by dreams and get hooked to pure nostalgia described in minuate by arun, our resident vikram sheth (arun i was right and now the whole blog has woken up 2 the fact that u have bigger things ahead of u , if u but dare take the leap. be forewarned - i might just go phising with ur material. ) and on the days we dont access i t, we r left craving 4 more. pure and simple addiction if ever there was one . my hubby takes one look at my face and starts planning our reunion in his head ( with gr8 foresight, he declares that he is not coming 2 the re himself) . well 2 clarify matters, sarita has been my friend 4 years, my doppelganger, my sounding board, my confidante and i am ready 2 swear it on " the god delusion" which incidentally is now the book i swear by. it surprised me 2 read that i had placed god in the category of best friend- while in itself an admirable proposition, i now think a friend should b more available and in the flesh. having declared that 2 b the solemn truth, i also think it doesnt diminish my friendship for other people, eg vimal with whom i have spent q a no of lazy afternoons looking at bad stirps of film ( where on earth did u get them from?) projected onto grainy walls with help from sunlight filtered thru a crack. just goes 2 show that vimal has always been innovative, creative and interested in images. we were often at the ice factory, his home and thankfully there being no stupid tvs, videos and other audio visual distractions would find novel ways 2 entertain ourselves, including going into the cold storage area where the blower would frost our hair and give us goose pimples. the other pastime was jumping into and sliding over the rice huks kept for coating the ice- we must have had hides like rhinos- dont remember getting scratched! pl get reena into the online community, i have her id and am in touch with her (& yes she has called me her dearest friend (eatur heart out vimal)) . pl also enlighten me - which batch was tasneem in? and vimal, u better let out the mona-lisa secret- who is that mystery lady with the mona lisa smile?

Hey Alps,
Real sweet of your hubby to think of organizing a reunion. He has to
be there too. We would love to meet him n thank him personally.
I joined SVC in the Std 4 and left midway through Std 7 (1967-70). You must've been pretty junior to me. Faiyaz, Aditya,Devdutt,Babu Singh,Debnath,Leela,Patsy,Sancheyta,Ramakrishna, Pappu were my classmate.

At least you won't crib,"Main kya karoon Ram, mujhe Buddha mil gaya" when your 'Buddha' goes to the 'bagh' and gets you a 'gobhi' instead of a 'phool'.... ;))

Have I overheard ??? Cognac ... someone ??

Arun our tribe is increasing ! French potpourri amidst Firangi Formulae ???

Guys / Gals would prefer a cocktail as a prelude to the much awaited rip roaring reunion of vintage SVC denizens.
