hi arun lovely pic and popped up just when i was urging u 2 post one on one of those comment sites.and berating vimal 4 not using his photographic skills 2 post one of ur meeting. dont these comment sites have a life of their own, burgeoning on like branches from the main tree. so what does ur wife do? does she enjoy our blog? and is she thrilled with ur hidden talents? or were ur letters 2 her perchance give aways b4 u blossomed on the blog? i wonder, do frnds write letters now? real ones, lengthy and meandering? did we once write long epistles and receive them also? sarita and me used 2 correspond once. do say hi 2 ur wife and tell her we look forward 2 meeting all of u
'This is my wife Minakshi'- Okay!And she is a real beauty:-} 'We got married in Dehradun'- Fine! 'We have three children'- Great! 'Will post their pix soon'- Even better! Now Arun I'm sure what all of us are dying to know is who the man in the pic is ;-}
Nargis: Beauty and the beast! Beauty: Minakshi Beast: Arun though i must confess like all good writers you have the art of catching novices like me on the wrong foot. fine so it should have read, "Hi folks that's me and my wife minakshi.." Alps: You are right about the long letters part. we were engaged for almost ten months before we got married. That's when the letters flowed. Minakshi is a housewife now. she had her own boutique in Bhilai and later Bellary but right now she looks after the kids and me.
Great Picture!! Yet to get a flavour of the hidden Yash Chopra in you. Dus Mahiney Likhke Legaye Dil, Legaye Dil!! Let the romantic ones flow...Needn't take the trouble to rewrite them all over again!. Scan them Post them!
A Tisket a Tasket, A green and yellow basket, I wrote a letter to my love and on the way I blogged it!!
Could not have recognised you in a crowd. The sea change from SVC to now. Probably with my amateur Forensic abilities may have caught you. Correct me if I am wrong- you had a deep gash / scar on your left or right mandible .Memory fades out. This would have been the lead for pinpointing.
Naresh you are right about the scars. i had a minor operation done under the expert care of Dr. feroze Ali i think in 1968. i remember crying and howling like mad and bringing the house down.
stanely the last time you mentioned something about christopher marlowe it had me running for the google search. please, i am just a novice who is strolling down the memory lane.my wife reads the blog almost daily with me.
Reena thanks for the comments. the pictures look good because of my wife and kids and not me! great to have you in the blog. eagerly awaiting for your photographs.also apart from your family write something about uncle, aunty and your younger sis. Shankar you are right. how can we fight the ravages of time? now only memories remain of our golden days. during childhood the elder one had a striking resemblance to my childhood pictures.
hi fayaz, Vimal tells me this is a phamelee show. no adults wala stuff. now how can i edit those hot romantic letters and make them luke warm without compromising (no puns here) on the feelings? looking forward to your adVICE
Good pics, Arun! Minakshi looks the same, but you've changed a lot since we met in Bhilai in 2001 or 2002. I agree with Shanker that most of us remember you with the looks of your elder son.
Dad must have told you before operating, ‘Mark my words, Arun Main Na Rahoonga, Tum Hi Rahoge Na Rahengi Nishaaniyaan’ Marks sey No Marks!
Daddy would reach out for People’s PuLses and not PuRses! I say this not because he was my Father but because he was a good human being. A magical touch imbibed within, like you do, Arun …
You may say that PEN is mightier than Sword I might disagree and say that PUN is mightier!
dear faiyaz, there is a line by wordsworth I read in college that still touches me: "the music in my heart i bore long after i heard no more."
The same holds true with some personalities. Their memories we live with long after they are gone.Doctor saheb was one of them.
Before this blog I had even forgotten his face but his deeds remained fresh like a dew drop. He belonged to the rarest of rare categories. In many ways the compulsions of modern economics and the social parameters of defining success will not allow for the birth and effloresence of people like him. I read somewhere that even parents pride for their children is directly proportional to their CTC package. You,Nargis and Nigar are indeed blessed by Allah to have been born in that family.
In your own sweet ways I wish u all keep the family flag flying. You may not be able to recreate the same aura but you can always with your deeds remind us about him.Insha Allah.
Arun the snap is brilliant!--your wife is a looker !!! I also saw the children's snap, your daughteris a replica of our hindi miss- ur mother. Convey my regards to your parents.
I must thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your write ups are not the usual surface stuff, you have the ability to touch the soul! Prof Bhatt and Mrs Kamala Bhatt after all! May God Bless you and your family even more!
