Hello all

There are some in the group who may still remember me.....Vimal does seem to.
I joined SVC in my 7th Standard, I think Ashu was there in my class for some time after I joined and the recent picture posted by her brought back a lot of memories of my classmates in SVC.
And Santa, I remember well and she should too.....after all we went through the tensions of life's first major exam together....ICSE.....the mark sheet of which I seem to have conveniently lost so as not to be reminded of the terrible numbers in that !
Louis and me have spent time together since our teenage and have been in constant touch. And ofcourse, had the opportunity to spend quite a lot of time with the lovely family in Calcutta for many years.....Stanley and Papa (that's how I know his wife) were great hosts always.
And thats the list from the group who probably would remember me.
About the picture, that is the family. My wife Mona is also from SVC, she was 6 years our junior in school....her admirers crib about craddle snatching !! The little boy is our one and a half month old son, though the picture was taken when he was a lot younger. And ofcourse the handsome young man is me.
That was an introduction, more on what I have been upto since school will come later.

Hi Kaustubh, great seeing you and your family on the blog. Yes, Pappa and I still recall how you would land up in all possible time slots at our calcutta abode and we would have impromptu addas.
Am in Bangalore now --and so are Louis, Julian and Mary.
CP Rao, my bro-in-law,is in Salem now.

Hey Kausty,
I did my ISCE from SJC Sambalpur. Were you by any chance in my sister Shehla's class? She is ICSE '82 batch from Sbp.

Kausty said...

Tasneem,
I think I must have been in Shehla's class.....by any chance you mean Shehla Raza.....your father was a doctor.....Dr. Raza Rasool....I think ?

Tasneem said...

Yes, you are right on both counts. How do you know my Dad?

Mona is very pretty and your baby is very cute but we can't see the chehra of the 'handsome young man'. Aur ek foto jaldi post karo!

Hi Kausty or should I call you Kajal?
Are you Dr. Kishore Misra's son? Is your sister's name Kajori? Your aunt Ms. Bimal taught my elder sister history in WC BAM! Surprised, eh?

Hello Tasneem,
It was Kajal or maybe Kajala that I was called by my mausi from Bam. And yes I am Dr. Kishore Misra's son and Kajri's brother. But the lady who might have taught English to your sister in Bam WC would be my mom Mrs. Bimal Prabha Ratho.....she had never changed her surname.
And your father I will never forget.....I was wearing glasses and so he once said I looked like Shehla. My mom thanked him for the compliment, but she said I may not be very happy about my looks being compared to a girl !! And that was the only time anyone compared my looks to any girl.
And where is Shehla nowadays ?

Hi Kajala, It's a very small world isn't it? I remember you and your sister as little kids. Where is Kajri now? How time flies...Life in the 3 Medical College colonies of Orissa, as children of the teaching staff was actually quite a lot of fun what with the picnics, dramas, annual days, fetes, film weeks, puja's, weddings etc, etc.
Shehla is in Kolkata working in the Br. High Commission as Adviser UKTI and travels to London often. She remembers you as 'that quiet boy'! She wanted your contact details. Her husband, Zulfi is in the IPS, WB cadre. She was two lovely daughters and looks like their elder sister!
Incidentally, my sis, Nasreen who was taught by your Mom is a lecturer in History in a WC in Lucknow. Her husband is in the IPS, UP cadre and she has a daughter and a son both of whom are in the US.
Your baby son is so cute... MashaAllah. Usko kala tika lagao aur nazar utaro.
And do keep blogging.
Cheers!

It is a small world. Kajri is now in Anand. Her husband is a professor at IRMA and she just completed her PhD in some subject, which I cannot understand and come back to Anand and doing some projects there.
I was in Lucknow in 1993 for a few months, posted there by my company. I have a friend from college teaching something at Lucknow university, but I have lost touch with him...his name is Deepti Sahu....dont know if WC lecturers and Univ lecturers interact a lot there.
Please pass on my contacts to Shehla. It will be good to catch up with her sometime when she is travelling to London.
