reunion ahoy

well folks, as i was writing in an earlier post ( b4 being rudely cut off by the vagaries and machinations of our very own MSEB), am in the initial stages of plannning the re 4 whoever wants 2 attend. there is a small hill station near pune - panchgani, lovely place nestling in rapidly depleting woods , accessible 2 all of in maharashtra. abt 7 hrs from mumbai, 2 from pune and 3 from my place . i have frds who own bunglows there that they rent out. in accor with faiyaz's wish have enquired - we can go upto 5 bed rooms or 10 depending on the no of people. also will have a preview in the first week of dec if u let me know how many r game, whether u will bringing the kids or only ur better halves. there is a cook and we can hop across 2 mahabaleshwar ( the pricier and more crowded twin ) 16 kms away. will b cheaper and better in panchgani. june is start of the rains, the crowds thin out then , so we will have the plce 2 oueselves. also have 2 plan early so as 2 help people do their bkings. 4 folks from orissa, the konark will transport u 2 pune anfd from there is easy 2 come down with ashu . from the south, all trains end at miraj which is sanglis twin- will take u all 2 panchgani. 2 days starting friday evening or saturday morn should b fine and 4 those who want 2 stay on or explore other destinations, there is a lot of choice nearby. my home is also open 2 all if u care 2 come down and as for accomod, we will enjoy being together rather than otherwise. so start planning- am in touch with vimal who has prom 2 fix the final dates . sugges welcome

Great idea --am game --when( is it in Dec second weekend?)

I am getting a deja vu feeling --all planning and no meet

I know Faiyaz will retort with a "Meet na mila re man ka"..............

Alpana sounds pretty serious and this no way appears to be an eyewash!

Thanks for the initiative - Great going! Precise dates please!

arun dogs will b welcome by me as i am crazy abt dogs but will have 2 ask the owner first also the other people who r coming as the world (acc 2 alpana) is divided into 2 grps - those who love dogs and those who rabidly hate them. pl give vimal sugges abt the date in june 2009 pref a weekend so we post it 4 all 2 c.

The world (acc 2 Faiyaz) is divided into 3 grps - those who love dogs, those who love bitches, and those who rabidly hate them!

alps,

if you are crazy about dogs then i think it is ok afterall my dog is named crazy. one sec. are you crazy about dogs or do you get crazy when you see dogs? despite your more or less ok position the position on this crazy issue is still not clear. Faiyz has further added a third angle to the triangle. should we have a general vote on this and then decide? if you all decide against my Crazy can i stay in a nearby hotel/flat? Plz. clarify. Vimal himself is not on the blog for ages so how will we settle this issue?

what about the menu? will it be a mix of veg and non veg or is the world divided into those who are:

passionately veg and rabidly anti-non-veg,
passionately non-veg and scorn at veggies,
passionately non-veg but tolerate the veggies,

this is all getting a bit confusing!!!!

i suggest Faiyaz to sort these matters. i am sure he will see that all is settled in time.

What a lovely idea Alps....but it's still too early to say anything. Especially since we are planning to visit my son for his graduation ceremony in May and don't know if I'll be back by June....
And Arun, send that 'Crazy' fellow over to my place. He will be entertained by 'Champagne'and 'Nelson'. And as long as he doesn't get tipsy or is pawed by the feline General, I guess he'll be fine :-}

Nargis,

Should you be so practical. Just look at the period- it is either June or September and the year too is missing. So I think we can all plan and ensure that somewhere, sometime, some svcians will meet.Let us hope some will make it to panchgani in June and this would snowball into an annual thing.

Thanks for the crazy offer. So to go to the West coast in June I first have to come to the east coast!!!

On a more serious note this is the second time I am coming across the Champagne and Nelson reference without understanding its meaning. The first time was in your dream blog and I quote:

Or on a more bizarre front, imagine what would happen if I suddenly decide to de-adopt Nelson and Champagne.

Is this some literary expression?

Arun, I belong to yet another category--'passionately veg and non-veg and rabidly pro-rabidi' (still cant resist sweets from Orissa).

Faiyaz-"THE LYRICIST..."its time u start writing the Hindi version of "MAMA MIA". Farah Khan and A R Rehman would be thrill...ed with the idea and procastinate everything to work on this.

Is the SVC - Summit 2009 extraordinaire restricted to us or the next generation can snuggle in ???

Coterie of 'Smooch lovers ', Bitch haters, vicariously variegated veggie stuff, pugnaciously poetry perfect (Faibhai) when he is on the lyrical promenade, Hippocratic Docs, delectable writers like Arun.

Gosh ! seems the cocktail will overflow !
