WHAT RAINBOW??!!

It was a miserable wet evening, and I had just got home from my run, all drenched . Midway through my run it started to pour. Since I was already out I decided I would finish my run. I got home and was telling my sister (who is visiting ) how wet and dreary it was. As I was telling her that, I happened to look out my window. It was raining cats and dogs and at the same time the setting sun was shining in its full glory. I immediately thought, there must be a rainbow! I ran to my backyard and indeed I saw there was a rainbow!. It started out very faint and then became more and more spectacular. I ran upstairs for my camera. By the time I came down with the camera the rainbow was all but gone. I was truly disappointed and started heading back upstairs to put my camera away when I noticed that the sun was coming back out of the clouds. I RAN out my front door, and on to the street, bare feet and looked at the eastern sky and there was the 'MOST AMAZING' rainbow I have ever seen. It was a complete one. I have seen many rainbows in my life but never such a complete one. I clicked away like a maniac since the light was quickly fading away (as far as the camera was concerned). I called my sister and my son to come out and see the rainbow. I was like a kid who was let loose in a candy store. I stood in the rain clicking pictures, admiring the beauty of nature in front of me. To my delight the rainbow persisted for almost half an hour. I did not want to go inside, such was the beauty of this particular rainbow. It was a perfect ending to a cloudy, rainy day.
I was enjoying the rainbow so much that I felt like shouting out to everyone to come out of their homes and share my excitement. I could not help but notice how empty the street was. I was the one and only lonely soul standing there feeling like I found a treasure chest. I was expecting all my neighbors to come out and enjoy the sight too, but no one ventured out. One neighbor arrived home from somewhere, gave a cursory glance at the sky , got out of her car, looked at me like I was crazy to be standing in the rain, went inside and shut the door. I guess I was the only one in my neighborhood who got all excited about such 'A LITTLE THING' as a rainbow. I went to work the next day and asked my colleagues if they saw the rainbow the previous evening. They all answered 'WHAT RAINBOW?'

Here are some of the pictures I took - the full rainbow was spread across such a large area that I had to take two pictures in panorama mode to get the whole thing.
