Hello, everyone. I guess its high time I cleared the confusion & for once get my lazy self to connect with all you amazing people on the SVC blog. I am Farhat Bazmi. Was a SVCian for just the Nursery class.I belong to the 1989 batch. I am sorry to say I don't remember any of my classmates or teachers from back then. But it is a great joy to catch up on some of the SVCians activities on the blog. Right now I live in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. My husband works as a HR manager for a multinational FMCG. I have worked on & off. But right now I am happy as a home maker. Both our parental families are settled in Cuttack, Orissa. I still have relatives living in BAM.
I must thank Vimal for checking me out in batchmates.com & then inviting me to this blog & helping me connect with my longlost friend(s). As one blogger put it he is the original "Nokia" , connecting people. His contribution to all this needs to be lauded. So here's to Vimal....... Three cheers !!! I know a lot of us here owe it to him for finding us our friends. So thanks a million. His pesistence has finally made me post this.
I guess that's it for now. Take care all of you .

Hi Farhat --welcome fellow SVC-ian.
I am glad that the blog now spans across so may decades of SVC-ians --and we should give our own Nobel to Vimal for "connecting" all of us.
By the way, your husband --you did not provide his name --looks a lot like the hero of Iqbal,Shreyas Talpade......
Thanx for the welcome.Good to know you.My husband's name is Syed Imtiaz Ahmed, Imtiaz to friends & family. He's flattered by the comparison !!

Hello Farhat and Imtiaz,
Welcome to this special 'family'. Since I have spent my early days in BAM and Cuttack I am sure we are bound by many common memories. I hope you will bridge the 'gulf' and reach out. Best wishes.
Hi Farhat & Imtiaz... Welcome to the Blog. Thank you so much for your post... As far as the credit goes... actually all of us deserve a pat on our back for putting in time and effort to connect. It would be unfair on my part to take all the credit... Actually maine to kuch "NO(nahi)KIA"...
Thank u all for the warm welcome. Just a couple of questions.
For Faiyaz - I didn't get the neighbour part. Care to clear??
For Arun - Are you in any way related to Mrs. Neelam Bhatt??
If by Neelam you are referring to the life science lecturer in Ravenshaw College then yes, she is my Bhabhi
I reside in a country next to yours - Hence I mentioned neighbour!
Hi Farhat & Imtiaz,
Vannakam (now that I'm posted in Madras that's how my greeting will be!).
Nice reading all about you.
Hi Tasneem, Vannakam to u too.
Well Arun it is after all a small world. I was Neelam ma'am's student in +2 & +3. We also share the same guide, she for her Ph.D. & me for my M.Phil.She may not be able to remember me by my name, but she'll remember me as Haseeb Sir's daughter. She was my Dad's colleague for a while.Where is she now? How's she doing? She had the cutest kids !!
Imtiaz wants to know if you are related to Manoj Bhatt as well. Manoj was his senior in school.
And Faiyaz Dubai, is it?
Lastly, guys could you all add a few details about yourselves, please ? I know nothing about you all except your names.
Hi Farhat-Welcome. Well I studied in SVC and Stewart School Cuttack(Senior Cambridge-1974) and then back to Bam for college till PG(1980). At Cuttack we used to stay initially at Mission Road and later at Cantonment Road and at Bam it was Church Road. Currently working at SAIL Kolkata.
If you tell us more about yourselves we may find common links
Hi farhat,
It indeed is a small world.
My Bhabhi continues to teach in Ravenshaw College. She is based in BBSR as my brother works in NALCO. Her daughter teaches English in a Managment Institue in BBSR while his son is in the final year of Engineering.
I will tell Bhabhi to take a look at the blog. I am sure she will recollect.
Manoj Bhatt is not related to me. Where was he studying and which year?
Arun - Get ready for the next question - Related to Pooja Bhatt/Mahesh Bhatt?
Folks did you know that Mahesh Bhatt was a follower of Osho?
Puneites will know this better!
Farhat, Yes I am based in Dubai.
btw, did someone ever tell you that Names which begin with FA and end with AZ are interesting!
Whether it's FArhat or ImtiAZ.
Oh Yeah even if your name consists of these two alpha characters it's fine ! FArhat bAZmi!
They aren't only characters but interesting as well! Agree?
Farhat,
spoke to bhabhi. she remembers you distinctly. she even told me that your husband was working in Meerut once upon a time.she sends you her greetings and will check out your pictures in the blog today after she comes back from college.
FAB,
Pooja Bhatt toe nahin lekin wish i was related to Arya Bhatt!!
Hi Enarkay,
Nice knowing you. Well I started my schooling in SVC, moved on to St. Paul's, Bolangir & finally did my major part of schooling starting from Std. 4th till 10th from St. Joseph's, Cuttack.
+2 & +3 from S.B. Women's, Cuttack & PG & M.Phil from Ravenshaw College, Cuttack.
My parents place is in Kazi Bazaar, Cuttack & in-laws near Seminary School, Cuttack.
My brother & husband are products of Stewart School.
Arun, I'm touched that Neelam Ma'am remembers me. Before coming to Saudi Imtiaz was working with DCM in Meerut.
Imtiaz is from the 1986 batch. So Manoj must be a couple of years senior to him. He also played for the Ranji team, says Imtiaz.
And FAiyAZ, 'interesting' observation. That much I can 'agree' to.
Welcome Farhat, as also Imtiaz, since the spouses are mostly silent observers ;-)
Boy, I have not seen a more smashing introduction than yours on our blog!
I studied at SVC, BAM from Jan 65 thru March 73.
Currently, work for Cisco Systems in Dallas Tx. The family consists of my wife and 2 boys.
@Farhat, you only have to scroll down and keep reading this blog....you'll get to know all about all of us!
Happy hunting....
Thanx Omkar for the welcome.
Well I'm honoured to have the most 'smashing' introduction on the blog. Maybe its just the Diwali effect.
Anyway nice knowing you.
