Glimpses of India abroad

Hi folks,
Inspired by Debnath's post on cycle rickshaws abroad, I have collected a few pics that reminded me of 'back home' during my recent trip. Pics include the Nagarjunasagar Dam under construction (pic at National Geographic HQ at Washington DC), pics of the Hope Diamond and a pic of West India Quay metro station at London.

Now the SVC blog is becoming a roller coaster thru illustrations [which obviously is more glib and articulate ] than write ups ! [ Apologies - Nargis, Arun, Vinita ].

Venu, great pics. Is there a way to tell her Majesty to return our jewels, starting with the Koh-i-noor? But knowing the country of shopkeepers, they will auction it and make Vijay Mallya buy it.
They can keep our other jewels to give them a little heartburn (Laksmi Mittal, etc)

Hope diamond is also a cursed diamond. Hope you did not touch it. (is that why they say touch wood and not touch diamond?)

Arun, you are right about that---the Smithsonian Institute of Natural History, where the diamond is housed, has a write up on that also. I shall try to send you that picture by email.

Debnath--I share your sentiments on the Kohinoor diamond. I did see it at the Tower on London, after paying a hefty fee for the entry ticket.

Venu, Why has no on ementioned about the empty SPACE that you have deliberately left?
Has the SPACE something to do with NASA?

Fai, I mistakenly typed using invisible keys---hence the space at the end!!
