Hello everybody! Am awfully sorry for stepping in so late. It is great to see so many old faces/names and even more exciting to discover so many new faces from the old school. Have been in touch with Vimal throughout these years. And of course feel so very connected to Berhampur ..as Berhampur is "home" for me in the true sense of the word. Ma is there. And more significantly, so many memories. I hope this blog helps me remain a few steps closer to a significant part of those memories - school and school friends. Lots to share....looking forward to my being regular on this too.
salaam to u all!
Ranjana

Welcome to blogland Ranjana.
I am sure you will be flooded with nostalgia as we all are. As per Vims rule book it is mandatory to post your photo. So blog that and get going. You have a wide variety of topics to share your thoughts ranging from Kathal ki sabji to tribal rights and disappearing forest lands. Cheers!!
Tashreef le aayeeye is Zannat mein, jahan pariyon ka basera hai !
Bindaas pharmayeeye , hume sab kuch kubul hai.
Jab duniya ke daud bhag se thak jayengi tab iss gharane mein aapko sukoon mil jayega .
Valeikum aslam !
Hi Ranjana........
Naresh is right! 'Gar firdaus bar rue zameen asto, hameen asto hameen asto hameen asto'....
'If there is Heaven on earth, it is here, it is here, it is here'...of course this quote was written in context with Kashmir but since that heaven is now turned to hell, with our memories we svcians can at least turn this postcard into a paradise....:-}
WELCOME aboard!!
Hi! Welcome and thanx for joining the blog. Words fail me in expressing my happiness at seeing your post. There have been times when i have viewed the blog often, but did,nt know how to blog nor exactly took the pains to giv it a try. But as i read on and on, memories of SVC and of good ole Berhampur, the streets, gallis, Old BusStand, Arnnapurna Market, Bada Bazar all came flooding back. Recently, i saw that Arun Bhatt had visited Berhampur some time back and colected so many snaps and memories of Berhampur, and in fact I felt sheepish that I had been posted there for 2 years, but not gone to SVC at all. All this sort of, kinda infused certain guilt pangs, and I decided to join the blog and sail through with you all with bygone memories of our fun filled and happy no responsibilities childhood days. Ranjana, you having been a very vital part of my entire chilhood and life so far, I am truly thrilled that you have finally joined the blog.. Each one us can pen a few lines and truly watch the SVC bonding grow. AMEN !
Welcome onboard
Ranjana, the little one I remember you and Bibhu very well - I used to visit Devadutt quite often and Nargis was Ratna's classmate.
I wonder whats my Saati doing in Guwa Haati?
Sushil Agarwal was Nigars batchmate - I remember each one of you distinctly. Wonder if you folks do?
Hi Ranjana, salaam to you too and welcome to Vimal's creation, which is now really blossoming. I left Berhampur when I was quite young so my memories are not as vivid as some of the others who lived there longer. However, whatever memories I do have I will always cherish. I have been trying (in vain) to get all my siblings together so we can all visit Berhampur and walk down memory lane. Somehow it is not happening. Hopefully the next time I come to India it will happen. Looking forward to your blogs.
Hey Ranjana,
Good to see you here. I was your classmate from Class 7-10. We met last in Bangalore in the early 90's.
Hope to hear more about you and see you often on this blog.
Are you still working as a journalist?
Welcome Ranjana!I was Devdutt's classmate and recently spoke to him. If you are Vimal's classmate that makes you my cousin Nari's and my brother Venu's classmate too.Memories of Berhampur and SVC are the common threads that link us on this blog. I too have an urge to go to Berhampur and meet old friends.
Hi Ranjana,
At last you are here !! Good to Great- with you on board .Hope to see you more on the blog.

Welcome to the blog
Hi Ranjana...welcome. Not to be sorry as it is better late than never. I have just joined the blog and feels great.
This is truly overwhelming. Thelma, I remember u as THELMA - in addition to being Ray's sis and Bibhu's teacher. U were such an energising presence. Would love to meet your parents ...been to almost each house you folks lived in while in BAM. Give me a number I can call. And Rajalaxmi, the blog beacme easier for you to express too. Sarita, each time I go past the building near the railway line where u lived, I think of you. Each time withour fail, especially Uncle going to scholl on a scooter with youa nd Madhumita. And your Mom I remember so well. How are they? Stanley....if I begin saying all that I have been doing, Vimal might close the blog!!!!!! hehehe But sure I will. In time...We last met in Cal when Bibhu and Rajalaxmi took me to your place. But I remember with deep gratitude how each one of you - Henry, Mary, Louis, you called up after my lil' terror of a brother did the quitting act. Anyone who reached outat that time will remain with me ...such is life. Glad to be alive and indebted to life. Udaya...would love to get in touch with you. Alpana too. BUT WHERE IS SHEILA???????????
Ranjana -- this blog has now become our Agora, the Berhampur St Vincents equivalent of the Greek Public place, where thoughts, ideas and feelings, reverent and irreverent, are shared freely--a sanctuary, where all our collective memories, frozen time-capsules from the past, are displayed, like still photographs on frames, for us to gaze upon and reminisce........
