Hi friends...Last few days I have been going through the archives. First of all my heart felt condolences to Rajlaxmi, Ratna and Ranjana for the loss dear Bibhu. I do remember Ratna a little and most probably she is 1 year either senior and junior to me. Also my condolences to Aruna Joshi. The loss of a dear one surely shatters you but I am sure all of you are brave enough and have taken things in your stride. Aruna...if you happen to read this blog I hope you remember me. I very well remember you because many times we used to share the rickshaw back home from school. I used to get down at Tata Benz junction and you used to go ahead.
Congratulations to Nargis, Stanley and Udaya for release of their books. All of you write so well on the blogs and I will surely try and read the books. I am not an avid reader but of late I started reading. It was nice to read about all of you excelling in whatever professions you are in.
I enjoyed reading the blogs and comments. Special mention to be made about Stanley, Arun, Nargis, Faiyaz. I was also delighted to see photos of Ms Brenda, old school photos, photos of your families. Unfortunately I did not find any school photos with me to contribute.
After going through the archives a little more data got retreived from my crashed hard disk. There were a few mistakes in my earlier posts. First of all I left SVC in Jan 1974 after passing VIII std and not VIIth. Secondly I had made a mention of Miss Mary as the maths teacher...actually I was refering to Miss Valsamma.
In one of the earlier post Vimal had mentioned about the comfort of Berhampuri rickshaws. This prompted me to post these pictures. Guess if you can, where these photos were clicked. By the way in one of the photos a girl is riding the rickshaw...so ladkiyan bhi rickshaw chala sakti hai...hai na Alpana.

Hi Laxmi, enjoyed your sweeping summary - like a Bachhi Karkaria review in the Statesman of yore.
And you do have a good memory of dates and teachers --I do recall Ms Valsamma, for we used to play badminton with her and other teachers after school.
What makes the blog so special is it is the one place that is "forever St Vincent's", to paraphrase a Rupert Brooke quote.
Humko Tony nahi mangta
humko Peter nahi mangta
humko Cycle wala Michael nahi maangta
Toh kaun maangta?
Johny Johny
Julie ka dil tumpe aaya Johny
tujhko hi maanu main apna honey
tu hi toh meri jaan hain
jaan hain!

Donno exactly where these rickshaws are from but we saw a few in New York....pretty looking things and pretty expensive to ride in them too....hehehe!

Why your comments are ' thrice said'?
Hi Arun...Thanks for the comment. I am still going thru the archives. Yesterday I came upon the write up on the cancer thing. It has brought tears to my eyes. Gr8 write up and I know how difficult for the one who is going thru the pain. It is even more painful for the near and dear ones. I hope our dear hindi miss is doing good these days. Please convey my good wishes to her and tell her that I am still very very bad at Hindi .She is blessed with wonderful children and grandchildren. She has the required strength to get over. I loved to see the photos of Minakshi and your kids.
Faiyaz...aap ka comment toh mere palle nahin pada...anyways thanks.
Nargis...You have got it right. The pictures were indeed clicked at New York.
Naresh..I was happy to see 7 comments when I opened the blog. But 3 of them were from nargis repeated :(. Chalo at least 4 toh the. By the way I was trying to recollect but sorry I could not place you. Were you in my class.
Nice pics n and seems u r enjoying the blog n a good summary.
Jhansi you cried?
Pushpaa.. I hate tears.
Now to understand this you have to go thru my blog on film dialogues!!!
Hindi Miss is fine. I will tell her that she was a bad teacher as Jhansi is still bad in Hindi.
Jhansi, Naresh was not in your class or my class. He is a class apart.
Well said Arun.Bahut khub...
Jhansi
Just chanced to see Arun and uvr comments.
If u remember Saroja, then u should remember me. Because Saroja and me belong to :
Phylum : Brahmins
Genus : Vaishnavites
She had a Temple at BAM and so do I have at Srikakulam [ ancestral passed down over 300 years ], which we used to discuss at school.
As for Arun, can never meet him at MUMBAI , he is incidentally always in the land of ' Maoists ' at that point of time. Poor LEOPOLD is getting barren without guzzlers like us ! Kyun bhai !
If u have seen Kati patang, u can comprehend Arun's dialogues !
Thanks so much for the condolences. Will tell Ratna and Rajlaxmi in case they have not seen your message. Where are u now?
Yes, I doubt if one can ever get over Bibhu's sudden exit. Thelma, tahnks for your mail too. It feels a wee bit strange when someone says how many bros/sis you have...I still say 4. It is the most rhearesed answer since childhood and comes like a reflex. and often, from sheer mischief akin to Bibhu's ways, I do not bother to correct.::)
