First day of October is elders day. I am confused whether I should say happy elders day. Very few people are really blessed to get a happy old age. Sometimes you get see the pain all around.
These pictures are taken at Paramshantidham Vriddhashram at Taloja which is about 30 minutes drive from my place. There are about 80 inmates and about 35 of them are ladies. Most of the inmates are very poor and abandoned but there are a few of them who are educated and were once well to do but are now abandoned by their families. We give them some clothes and snacks and spend the evening with them. But more than these things they love to interact with us and they ask us to come more often. Some of them are very excited to sing for us. The uncle in this picture is a Maharastrian gentleman but sings in about 8 languages. This is a project which is very close to my heart. I am happy that many clubs and social organizations come forward and help this home.
Narmada Niketan is another old age home very close to my place. This old age home is a paid home and the inmates are well to do. It is only that they do not have anyone to look after them. As part of Joy of giving week we had spent some quality time with them. We had the special children from the special school to perform for them. The elders also participated with bhajans. We had snacks together.
We try to make at least the Elders Day a happy one.

Keep up the Good Work!
Great work Lakshmi!!
This is a work of inner beauty. More power to you.
External beauty is so transitory.
My previous post with the lotuses was meant to be seen in a metaphysical way....
Keep up the good work, Jhansi...! Its coz of people like you that the world is a better place to live...
This is a lovely gesture Lakshmi. Like I said in Vim's blog, people talk but a few like you don't just do that....
Good job!!
Thanks to all of you for the kind words of encouragement. Sometimes I feel embarrassed when you say that I am doing something gr8. Its nothing like that. Its just an opportunity I get to do these little things. Gopal and me just enjoy being involved in such activities.
