Folks,
Sorry for the delayed post---was a tad busy at work, and whenever I had some spare time, was facing issues with viewing and editing posts on this blog.
Faced with a long weekend during Xmas (4 days), the least I wanted to do was hang around DC. So off I went to Philadelphia, where Seetha took the trouble of picking me up and driving me to her place at Robinsville, 40 miles away in her 4-wheel Nissan Rogue.
I had a terrific 3 days at her place and at Ranjana's (a Stewartonian). However, the storm that hit New York played spoilsport to Seetha's plan to drive down to a far away place at Pennsylvania where Xmas is celebrated with grand fervour. So we all huddled in Ranjana's place and watched 'Taare Zameen Par', while the snow kept piling up outside.
It was only on the following day that I realised the travails of living in a cold country. There was nearly 2 feet of snow piled up outside, and it took nearly an hour and a half to plough the snow off the driveway.
Despite that, there was ice on the point where the driveway meets the road, and therefore the possibility of an Accord or Civic making it to the road were bleak. So Seetha had to come to our rescue on her SUV---her Rogue turned out to be an angel!!
After a sumptuous lunch, she dropped me at Trenton station from where I took the train to Philadelphia. But after reaching Philly, I reaslized to my horror that all buses had been cancelled--never thought that this could happen in the US though.
With no hope of going to DC , I had to retrun to Trenton and it was Seetha who came to my rescue again. It was only on the next day that I could reach DC---at 4 in the evening!
But all said and done, it was one hell of a meet. Seetha--special thanks to you for all that you have done.

Great Venu, u had a white holiday..(like a white Christmas).
Seetha, in Ramayan, it was Hanuman doing the rescuing. Great job. And I am modifying the rogue status of SUVs in my greenlist. Guess they have their uses.
BTW, the Ranjana u mentioned, was she nee Ojha?
Bingo, you are right, Debnath. It was her.
A Stewartian sub-plot in a SVC blog?
Har har---you've got it right, AB!!
Yeehaw, yippeeee Venu, you DID it, finally!!! hehehe!!!
@Debnath - I love my Rogue and it is actually a cross-over, one step down from the SUV and gives great gas mileage, :))
Seetha

Lovely Pics,,,we cud do wid some of the cold here too!!!
Awesome Pictures Venu!
Saare Zameen Par - watched Taare Zameen Par!
@naresh: I guess I do, does your company mskevalloy wheels for Nissan??
@ Aashu: you can take all the cold from here. I can't wait for winter to be over
I guess I meant 'make alloy', not whatever junk that is in the previous post, :)))
Seetha
No we are just entering Nissan with their Indian launch 'Micra'.
SUVs' are a step ahead !
For a moment, I thought Seetha was referring to a Russian brand of alloys (mskevalloy wheels).
Could be the Petrograd connection :)
Folks,
I forgot to add an amusing incident:when I asked Seetha where she was staying, her response was 'Trenton, New Jersey'
From Ranjana the response was 'Princeton, New Jersey'
After reaching Seetha's place, we called Ranjana for directions to her place.
Guess what? She was just 2 miles away, and both were living in Robinsville !!!
It is like 2 people staying in Hinjlicut, one claiming to live in Berhampur, and the other at Bhawanipatna :))
Nice pictures Venu and Seetha...
Venu..this is a small world
What a cool place! I really envy you'll.Kolkata is already getting into the Summer mode:(
It was thrilling talking to Seeta again.

This is my last week in DC and the weather from today till next Thursday is always going to be above 32 F at the minimum and in mid-40s in the afternoon. On the day I am leaving, it will touch 60 deg F.
LOL, talk about induction for going to a hot place like Hyderabad!!
@Venu: Maybe you can take some of this cold with you to India, :))
@Enarkay: You can take the cold from here. I cannot wait for it to get warmer here.
