I think they tranquilize the poor things. I remember in bangkok also there were some chained tigers and we had taken out photos. Although it looks awesome,like you say one feels sad too because yes, even our dogs and cats roam free....
no folks , they r fortunately not sedated- we walked them down the hill - only post-prandial and so in mood 4 a snooze-luckily 4 us ! also though somnolent, they soon wake up and then u r put into cages while they frolic in the pool! talk abt reversal of roles!

yeh yeh .. d tigress never really is tamed. Maybe we pretend uh,
we pretend to be tamed.. :) just so they FEELLLL they the king of the jungle....
