KAAS - A Plateau of Flowers near Satara in Maharashtra

I just returned from Kaas yesterday (Sunday 09 Oct 2011) afternoon. Kaas is actually a plateau that is home to a few villages but is more famous for the millions of flowers that grow immediately after the monsoon. I went there with my colleague (another photo enthusiast..!) and spent two days (6-7 Oct) out there. Though we missed the peak flowering season by 2 weeks, we still managed to enjoy the vast expanse of flowers that form a carpet... The prominent colour this time was yellow. Depending on the dominant flowering plant the carpet could borrow any colour from the millions of hue available...
Kaas (Near Satara town) is around  5 hrs drive from Mumbai. A visit to this place is highly recommended. Feels good to share some of the photographs that i shot there:
