Here's wishing you all a Merry X-mas & a happy New Year.
This pic was taken today from my window. It is the view of the street outside and the building on the opposite side.
It has been snowing hard & the temp is -40c....its bone chilling cold!
The upside is that the whole place has been transformed into a kind of a fairy land.
The view is so much like a Christmas card that I decided to post it here with all my best wishes.
Have a great year ahead, folks.
TC.

Hey frenz, your infectious enthusiasm and lovely comments have really made my day! Yippee!!
Thanx. Its actually very beautiful and we're keeping our fingers crossed for a real white Christmas.
Alps, I'd love to taste your gingerbread cake. I can almost inhale the spicy aroma of your baking!
This gb house that I had written about is actually very easy here.... all these come prepackaged....walls & roofs (made of gb cookie); glue to stick them on (made of icing sugar) and other edible embellishments. The fun is assembling them together.
Wish I could send you a pack, Alps...
Hey Tas and the rest of blogville---Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
Great picture Tasneem. You will most certainly have a White Chritsmas.....a dream for all Londoners !!
Guess what, every year the bookies in London put up odds for a White Chritsmas, but since I have come here, there has been none. The bookies certainly make thier money ! But I was talking recently with one punter and he said, he always bets for a non-White Christmas and wins, but that is one bet he will not mind losing !!
This time it looks like we will get +10 or some such rediculously hot Christmas !! It was +14.5 this weekend !
But I have invited friends for Christmas eve but no ginger bread for them....the menu is fried chicken, baked sea Bass, roast Lamb and curried rice.....ofcourse with loads of drinks.
Oh, I forgot to mention, it does snow in London once or twice a year....sometime in February/March. I remember on the 8th of February 2007, the parking lot outside the hospital was as snow covered as in the picture.....it was the most lovely sight for me....my son was born that day.
But from a scenic point of view, nothing to beat your picture Tasneem !
I'm gonna gate crash to your party, Kausty.
All those yummlicious food coupled with the balmy weather sounds irresistible.
Shehla was full of praises about you...says you were the perfect host.
You seem to know a lot of kids I know, Shehla,Jawed, Reefat, Poonam, Dinesh...
It's getting warmer now...dunno if we'll have a perfectly white Christmas-only hope its not a slushy, grey one! Betting about it would be a fun thing to do!
Went Christmas shopping yesterday; in fact spent the whole day at the mall! Very, very beautiful and festive. Recession doesn't seem to have touched Calgary-maybe its the oil boom here that's got something to do with it. People seem to be flush with money...lucky blokes.
Ciao then folks. Guess I'll catch a movie one of these days. Slumdog Millionaire, Doubt and Seven Pounds all sound interesting. Maybe, I'll see one of them, maybe I'll see them all at one big movie marathon! One never knows with me!!!
