Hello everybody!!

This is Abha (Padhi) now Mishra for more than 22 years! I have to thank Vimal for his patience and help for guiding me until this step ......posting something on the blog!! This shows how computer savvy I am! Anyway, After SVC went to Womens college and then Med school in Berhampur. Then got married and moved to MP. From MP to US in 1993. We lived in the DC area until 2007 and now I am a neurologist in a small town in Mississippi which is 60 miles east of New Orleans. I have a twenty year old daughter in college!! Have not been to India in 5 years. Planning to visit my parents in December.

Of course I remember you,. You were Bablu's plump baby sis and Dr. N.C.Padhi's daughter. Now you've grown up to be a charming young lady! Nobody would believe that you are a Mom of 20 yr old!!
Welcome to the blog and do try to rope in your bro. I spoke to him a couple of years back but couldn't convince him to join the bandwagon.
Tell us more about yourself.
Ciao.

Hello and welcome. I guess you were a couple of batches senior to me.....batch of Sarabhjit Singh ? You guys finished school the year after I joined SVC.

Vimal Parmar said...

Kausty: Sarabjit Ahluwalia... He is in Nagpur currently.

Kausty said...

Yes Vimal, you are right.....Sarabjit Ahluwalia....he was the school prefect when I joined SVC. I really admire your memory and the pain you take to keep in touch with people and get them connected.

Vimal Parmar said...

Kausty, its possible only because of support from folks like you and other Blogmates who put in equal efforts to remain connected...
I have already invited Sarabjit to join the blog. Waiting for him to revert. Hope he is reading this.

Hello Abha,

I do remember not talking to you in school (cos. u were oh so junior) and yet your name rings a resounding bell (play on Venu's comment ;-) )

Remember 2001 Labor Day weekend? My wife, I and my then 3 year old boy were visiting my brother-in-law - R.R.Dash, and were invited over to someone's house (all I remember is the guy had done well for himself, and had lotsa trees in his backyard - plus I had almost finished a bottle of wine by myself).

At any rate, met you and your husband then.

Welcome!

Thx. Vimal.

Great to be in touch with all of you again!
Thanks again to Vimal.

I do not remember Labor Day 2000. Most likely this was at Dr. Brajendra Misra's home. RR Dash and Rita were my neighbors and good friends. Cannot recollect meeting you ...... maybe the wine....!

Welcome to the blog Abha. Your name sounds very familiar. Dr. NC Padhi also rings a bell. My Dad TP Viswanathan taught at Khallikote College. Was your Dad connected with Khallikote college or NCC, or am I way off base here?

Abha said...

Hi Seetha,

My dad retired as a surgery professor and today when I spoke to him, he remembers your dad very well.
It is a nice feeling to be back in the SVC circle...

Omkar said...

That's quite all right Abha. Nothing worth recollecting ;-) But hey, I think that was Mr. Mishra indeed.

I seem to remember that your husband was working for a bank in Washington or NYC?

Hi Omkar,
Binoy works for the World Bank and now has taken a 3 year leave. Where are you located in the US?
