Here the objects of my macro pictures!

This little guy was sunning himself on my deck when I took the pictures.

Vimal was spot on. The plant is called Tradescantia Zebrina
and is also known as the 'Wandering Jew', or 'Inch Plant'.

The plant's botanical name is Zebrina Kaif - Fine!
But what's the Insect's biological name?

The insect is a dragonfly with the common name 'Wandering Percher ' and the scientific name Diplacodes bipunctata. This is the male . Now you can come up with a name for this like you did for the plant, :)

Seetha... Technically this is not macro but cropping. For macro, the image on the sensor / film should be either 1:1 or 1:2... or so. You may call these images close-up shots.
If you are using a digital compact or a bridge camera then you can go as close as 1~2 inches. In case of a DSLR you may have to buy additional lenses.
