Haaye Alps....!! Goldy is such a cuteheart. Reminds me of Ginger- Niloo's pet. Her son had picked up two little puppies from the street because some boys were playing 'ball' with them... and he had brought them home and had named them Ginger and Shadow...

Wonder why Indian pets have only English names. Why do I never hear of a cat/dog named Sujata or Asha or Vikram?
I am not a pet person but admire the pythons, iguanas & gerbils my friends' kids have owned.

I'll tell you why Sujata...in Guwahati we had a lady who kept her doggie's name as Uma and even she used to feel embarassed to call out her name especially after she knew that my s-i-law's name was also uma...hehehehe

i totally agree with phoren names on two counts:
1. They messed up our country for centuries so we can mess around with their names as well.

2. I am fine with names like Napolean, Caesar etc. but just imagine calling our cannines Chandragupt Maurya or Shahjahan. The owners would be put behind bars!!!

I remember seeing a Kannada or Telugu movie where the hero named his dog after the much hated landlord. Whenever the landlord came out to collect rent, the hero would call out to the dog and curse!
