Happy Earthday To You! Happy Birthday To Me :-}

Today is my birthday!

As a fertile fruit

I was plucked from the garden of Heaven

and scattered in the den of Space

A global seed

I became

Planting myself in the heart of the universe

I triumphantly sailed……

When harmony prevailed

all of them humans hailed

me, a flourishing and prosperous planet

When discord began

between Nature and Man

I shriveled and shrank

into a bleak and barren battlefield

Amidst deafening war cries

I can still hear

the soft echoes of distant drums

wishes in song strung

Blessings with a stoke of cure

urging me on to withstand

..........to endure

And I will!

For I am Earth

Born not to fade

but to exist.

Today is Earth Day

My Birthday!

Signed....

The Burning Earth (please help me stay green )

Since I don't have a busy life and browse thru the blog during my spare time i had actually read this poem which was blogged in the year 2006.

There were three comments that year. Stanely, FAB and Vims all appreciated the poem but none wished Nargis a happy birthday.

Naresh again has started the same trend this year.

So let me play the spoil sport and wish Nargis a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY. May all your dreams come true.

Naresh: Vah! Vah! Vah! Ati sundar comment hai. MaataJi khush hui...(said in true Mogambo ishtyle :-}

Arun: Hahahaha...OMG you really noticed that lopsided appreciation....! Kya karein, I don't blame any of these guys. I guess if you share your birthday with the Maatas of all Maata, then you do tend to get sidelined ;-}
Anyway, thanks for the wishes...hehehehe

Faiyaz: Yes, the journey of Earth right from the 'birth' to the.... hopefully 'rebirth'...Dharti Maata ki Jai Ho! Btw...had a lovely surprise party yesterday..:-}

Kausty: Thanks a ton! Hope you had a lovely Earthday too :-}

Hilu: Eeeeeeeeeesh...! Not one, not two, not three but chaar chaar 'Greats'! Goodness....now that's what I call a 'grating' comment ;-}

NRK: Just by remembering this day we are also honouring the creation of that great Chitrakaar!
Of course by 'creation'....I mean that of Mother India Nargis and not the Mother Earth...what did you guys think...hahahahaha!

Tas: Your wishes came true....I did have a 'fun'tastic party yesterday. Thanks for those loverrrrly wishes :-}

Well, honestly Nargis, I did want to sub. "Grand" for a couple of "Great"s, but wouldn't wanna use "Great & Grand" together, at least not on your birthday, lest you think I am guy w/o. compunction ;-)

Nargis

Aligning myself with Arunbhai, wish u birthday ( ek din late !).

Your birthday announcement is camouflaged with the Dharti mata Birthday. Hence it is seamless, unable to judge , thought it was Earth's Janam din.

Happy Birthday Nargis !!!
its sad that living in the same city we hardly gt 2 see each other--Distance ( not in terms of kms. surely) makes the heart grow fonder RIGHT??? but the catch is when we accidetally bump into 1 another we may not be able to recognize each other--he-he- he- he-( black humour!!)

Hilu: OMG...thank God you didn't add the 'grand' too. If not it would have become a grating AND gr'a'inding comment...:-}

Naresh:Hey, it's never too late to wish a happy birthday, even if it's 365 days later. Only problem is by then you get older by one more year...:-}

Sarita: Who asked to go stay in thaaaaaaat corner of Bhub? Couldn't you have found a house on thiiiiis end? Did you by any chance think that too much distance will make the heart grow too much fonder ;-}
Btw...be careful of cracking such 'coloured' jokes Proffesarita. You don't want to be termed a racist by the literati now, do you? ..Hahahaha!

How earth was woven with such fulsome praise
and yet, methinks, that it was an ode to one's own Life,
for sharing the same birthday, does create bonds so alienable,
that does blur the lines betwenn within and without ....

Happy Birthday
